Recreation Center Improvements
The Heritage Meadows homeowners and Board are continually improving the facility in our ongoing quest to make the Recreation Center a more enjoyable and safer place for all. Recent improvement and maintenance projects include:
2021 Improvements & Maintenance
- Began Implementation of Multi-year Repair & Maintain Program
- Developed, updated, and began to implement a 10-year budget model and schedule for Recreation Center repair and maintenance
- Installed two new picnic tables
- Replaced gazebo
- Purchased additional poolside chairs
- Retained regular cleaning service
- Recruited and managed relationships with 10 non-owner Recreation Center Member families
- Tested and found a leak at the pool contributing to excessive salt and water loss
- Secured estimate and for pool leak; scheduled repair
- Sliding glass door to hot tub replaced
- Replaced hot tub autofill
- Repaired hot tub jet
- Repaired plumbing on toilets and urinal
- Repaired and replaced irrigation line
- Rewired pool light to timed/light sensor switch
- Trimmed trees in the recreation area
- Cleared trip hazards on tennis Court
- Repaired tile in main and kiddy pool
- Continued Long Term Landscaping Program, Including:
- Replaced lawn care and maintenance provider to reduce costs and gain better responsiveness
- Pruned several trees throughout the HOA and Rec Center to ensure positive growth and minimize damage from extreme weather conditions
- Reconfigured sprinkler system at the Rec Center and central path to reduce ongoing repairs
- Engaged with Boulder Water to analyze sprinkler usage throughout the HOA and Rec Center to identify waste and more appropriate usage
- Undertook major clean-up within and surrounding the tennis court to remove potential liabilities like tree roots and over-growth
- Planted shrubs and trees along the center path to continue "beautification" objectives agreed to by owners
- Removed hundreds of sand wasps from the volleyball court
- Removed dead Cottonwood tree (in progress as mandated by the city) along Iris
2017 Improvements & Maintenance
- Secured new Pool and Hot Tub Service Contractor
- Replaced four skimmer weirs at pool
- New Clock, Spa Cover, & Thermometer
- Replaced Pool Heater (18 years old~now can raise temperature 1 degree/hour)
- Replaced Spa Pump
- Repaired Gazebo
- Rototilled Volleyball Court
- Spring and Fall Cleanup
- New chlorinator and jet pump bubbler for Spa
- Repaired Slider lock at Spa
- Replaced backwash valve and basket
- $1825 H2O irrigation leak at Rec repaired and refunded $637 from City
- Moved seven blocked & misplaced sprinkler heads and added one at Jonathan fence
- Tested back-flow internal devices and repaired two
- Reinforced stair railing at South door outside stairs
- Replaced broken East window
- Installed stone edging and mulch and plantings and irrigation below East windows
- North wooden fence at NE corner of building blew down cut up and disposed of
- Replaced rusted out ash container at BBQ
- Planted flowers in barrels and watering at pool
- Spring and Fall Owner maintenance and furniture from/to basement
- Oiled Spa Room furniture
- Drapes installed Spa Room
- New Movie Screen brackets
- Spring and Fall Heritage Meadows Parties at Pool and Movie Night
- New Chaise Lounges, four
- New LED exterior lights

- Reoccurring Algae issue resolved
- Secured estimates for pool handrail concrete repair, pressure testing system, acid washing both pools, tile repair on big pool, new matching tile and hole repair at kiddie pool, recaulk of concrete deck = $6,800 & $1,500 for H2O to refill pool
- Kept Cleaning Service supplies in stock
- Had ten Members (non-Owners) pay $1,000 each for Membership
- Had eighteen private Parties at the Pool last summer. Four on Weekdays/14 on Weekends. Sixteen Parties by Owners.
2015 Improvements & Maintenance
- First ever Opening Day BBQ rather than workday
- Earliest Pool Opening ever: first week in May
- New rope ladder for play set
- Cleared footpath on north side of Rec Center Building
- Installed new clock
- Replaced broken window east side of building
- Discontinued the use of toxic weed spray
- Rototilled and weeded volleyball court and gravel areas
- Secured professional Cleaning Service for Rec Center
- New access handrail and new hot tub cover
- Repair and Painting of building, fencing, and playset
- Planted 8 evergreens west of pool
- Replaced tree at entry
- Trimmed Pinon pine south of Pool
- Replaced spa pump with high efficiency pump
- Replaced control circuit board on spa heater
- Repaired suction leak at pool valves
- Replaced pilot on pool heater
- Best turnout at an Annual Meeting ever!
- Augmented Board to eight members
- Collected all dues by July ... the earliest ever!
- Transitioned hosting of website and Transferred registrations with CO Secretary of State
2014 Improvements & Maintenance
- Hot tub heater replacement
- Rebuild on all lavatory and shower valves
- New pool cover
- Replaced white board at Rec Center
- Stained play structure
- Eliminated need to rekey
- Domain renewal for HOA and Rec Associations with the Colorado Secretary of State
- Radon tested Rec Building
- Repaired wading pool tile
- Professional cleaning service and Rita F. kept the Rec Center and pool looking fabulous
- New lockbox
- Treated ash trees against borers (Condos treated/trimmed all Iris and Entry ash trees)
- Cabled river birch on central path
- Backflow tested all 8 water and irrigation systems
- Replaced solar lights
